Sensex Surges 550+ Points, Nifty Tops 24,550; IT & Cement Stocks Shine
Indian benchmark indices traded firmly higher on Monday, with the Sensex advancing over 550 points and the Nifty50 reclaiming the 24,550 mark. The rally was driven by upbeat global cues, softer crude oil prices, and renewed optimism over diplomatic developments in West Asia, boosting investor sentiment. Buying remained broad-based across sectors, with IT, Cement, FMCG, PSU Banks, Chemicals, and Financial Services emerging as the top gainers. Banking stocks also contributed significantly to the market's strength. In contrast, Media was the weakest-performing sector, declining nearly 2%, while Pharma, Healthcare, Consumer Durables, and Mid & Small-cap Healthcare shares traded slightly lower amid selective profit-taking.
