Sensex Today : Sensex slips over 400 points, Nifty near 24,180; IT stocks lead decline

: Indian benchmark indices remained under pressure on Tuesday, with the Sensex losing more than 400 points and the Nifty trading close to the 24,180 mark. Selling was led by IT stocks, while Realty, PSU Bank and Metal counters also remained weak. Auto, Pharma and Oil & Gas stocks bucked the trend and traded higher.

and !HCLTech emerged among the biggest Nifty losers, each declining around 2%. Market breadth remained negative, with more stocks declining than advancing. India VIX also moved higher, signalling increased volatility in the market. The Nifty IT index emerged as the biggest sectoral laggard, falling nearly 1.5%. Realty and PSU Bank indices also remained under pressure, while Metal, Bank Nifty and Consumer Durables traded lower. Meanwhile, Oil & Gas, Auto and Pharma sectors witnessed buying interest.
