. At the closing bell, the Nifty 50 settled at 26,178.70, down 71.6 points or 0.27%, while the BSE Sensex finished at 85,063.34, falling 376.28 points or 0.44%. Shares of
RELIANCE
witnessed their steepest single-day decline in more than eight months, sliding over 4%, after reports suggested that CLSA removed the stock from its India model portfolio. Meanwhile,
TRENT
, the Tata Group’s retail arm, slumped 9% following its third-quarter business update. On the Sensex,

Bank emerged as the major drags. In contrast, ICICI Bank, Sun Pharma, Hindustan Unilever (HUL), State Bank of India (SBI), and TCS ended the session as top performers. Across the broader market, the Nifty Midcap 100 declined 0.19%, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 closed 0.22% lower. From a sectoral standpoint, Nifty Oil & Gas was the worst-hit index, tumbling 1.75%, followed by Nifty Media and Nifty Chemicals.
