Indian benchmark indices erased most of their intraday gains during the final hour of trade amid weak global market sentiment. The Nifty 50 declined 0.12% to settle at 23,214.95, after touching an intraday high of 23,425.35, while the Sensex managed to close marginally higher by 0.09% at 73,983.18, retreating more than 600 points from its day's peak of 74,613.01. Sectoral Performance Market breadth remained largely negative, with most sectoral indices ending in the red. Realty, Oil & Gas, PSU Banks, and IT stocks witnessed notable selling pressure, declining between 1.2% and 1.5%. In contrast, the FMCG sector outperformed, advancing 1.1%, while Financial Services posted modest gains of 0.32%. Key Contributors to Nifty Banking stocks provided significant support to the benchmark index. $HDFCBANK contributed 35.32 points, followed by $ICICIBANK k with 31.22 points and $AXISBANK Bank adding 14.89 points. Positive contributions also came from $LT & Toubro and $HINDUNILVR Unilever. On the downside, $INFY s emerged as the biggest drag on the Nifty, shaving off 28.02 points. Selling pressure in $RELIANCE , $BHARTIARTL , and $HINDALCO also weighed on market performance.
