Stock Market Highlights: Sensex surges 2,946 points on US-Iran ceasefire news, Nifty crosses 23,950; all major sectoral indices close higher.

Synopsis: Indian equity markets witnessed a strong rally on Wednesday, with both Sensex and Nifty jumping near 4% each. The surge was supported by easing geopolitical tensions due to a temporary US-Iran ceasefire, a sharp decline in crude oil prices, and other positive triggers, marking the fifth consecutive session of gains. The Sensex advanced over 2,946 points to settle at 77,562, while the Nifty50 climbed around 874 points to close at 23,997. This rally added nearly ₹16.59 lakh crore to the total market capitalization of BSE-listed companies, pushing it to approximately ₹446 lakh crore. Among top performers,

Market sentiment remained upbeat as the India VIX, a key volatility indicator, dropped more than 20% to 19.70. All sectoral indices on the NSE ended in positive territory, with Nifty Realty and Nifty Auto leading the rally, each gaining nearly 7%. Other sectors including PSU Banks, Consumer Durables, and Private Banks also recorded gains exceeding 5%, reflecting broad-based buying across the market.
