Stock Market Holiday Today: Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange Closed for Maharashtra Day

Trading across the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will remain suspended on May 1 in observance of Maharashtra Day. Market activities will recommence on May 4 (Monday). On April 30, Indian equity markets experienced downward pressure, primarily driven by escalating geopolitical concerns and a sharp surge in Brent crude oil prices, which climbed to wartime highs. All segments—including equities, equity derivatives, securities lending and borrowing (SLBs), currency derivatives, and interest rate derivatives—will remain closed throughout the day on both exchanges. However, in the commodity derivatives segment, trading will be halted during the morning session (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) but will resume for the evening session (5:00 PM to 11:30/11:55 PM). Regular trading across NSE and BSE will restart on May 4 (Monday). Investment in securities market are subject to market risks. Read all the related documents carefully before investing.
