Stock Market Wrap-Up: Sensex climbs for third session, ends 320 pts higher; Nifty tops 25,400; ETERNAL l up 3%, HDFCLIFE e gains 2%
Market Recap: Indian benchmarks finished in the green on Wednesday, with both Sensex and Nifty extending their winning streak to a third consecutive day. The uptrend followed the U.S. Federal Reserve’s decision to lower interest rates by 0.25% to bolster the job market. Market sentiment was further supported by recent GST reforms and progress in India–US trade negotiations.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended 320.25 points, or 0.39%, higher at 83,013.96, while the NSE Nifty 50 added 93.35 points, or 0.37%, to settle at 25,423.60.
On the 30-share Sensex, advances were led by Eternal, Sun Pharma, Infosys, HDFC Bank, and HCL Technologies, which rose between 0.8% and 3%.
