$TVSMOTOR Q1 Profit Soars 51% to ₹1,174 Crore; Revenue Rises 38%, Stock Gains 5.5%
$TVSMOTOR delivered a strong set of numbers for the June quarter (Q1 FY27), reporting a 51% year-on-year increase in standalone net profit to ₹1,174 crore, compared with ₹776 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The company's revenue from operations grew 38% YoY to ₹13,896 crore, supported by robust demand across its motorcycle and scooter segments and higher vehicle dispatches. Operating performance remained strong, with EBITDA reaching a record ₹1,779 crore, up 41% from ₹1,260 crore in the year-ago quarter, aided by improved scale and operational efficiencies. Vehicle sales hit an all-time quarterly high during the period. Total two- and three-wheeler sales rose 28% to 1.63 million units, while motorcycle sales increased 19% to 0.74 million units. Scooter volumes surged 36% to 0.68 million units, underscoring healthy consumer demand. The company stated that higher global commodity prices pushed up input costs during the quarter. However, the impact was largely cushioned through calibrated price revisions, cost-efficiency measures, and economies of scale. Following the better-than-expected earnings, $TVSMOTOR shares advanced nearly 5.5%, as investors cheered the company's strong profitability, record sales, and resilient operating performance.
