What is Muhurat Trading?

Every year on the occasion of Diwali, the BSE and NSE remain closed for regular operations, but they hold a special one-hour trading session known as Muhurat Trading. During this brief window, the stock market operates normally, with all standard processes and mechanisms in place. Muhurat Trading is a customary practice rooted in tradition. As Diwali signifies the beginning of a new Samvat year in the Hindu calendar, many Indian investors consider this session to be auspicious. It is widely believed that making investments during this ceremonial trading hour can usher in prosperity and good luck for the year ahead.
