Coal India Aims to Achieve 875 MT FY26 Production Target Despite Monsoon Impact
⛏️ COALINDIA’s new CMD, Sanoj Kumar Jha, reaffirmed the company’s aspiration to meet its 875 MT production target for FY26, despite shortfalls caused by heavy monsoon rains. Output dropped 9.8% in October to 56.4 MT and fell to 48.97 MT in September, but the company expects stronger performance ahead. With over 80% share in India’s coal output, Coal India is also targeting 900 MT in dispatches and anticipates higher coal stock levels compared to last year amid softer demand from the power sector. Regulatory frameworks for the proposed coal exchange are expected within the next six months.
