Union Bank Reports 29% Jump in Q1FY27 Profit

reported a 29% year-on-year rise in Q1FY27 net profit to ₹563 crore, supported by record operating profit and continued improvement in asset quality. The bank's Return on Assets (RoA) strengthened to 1.36%, reflecting better profitability and improved efficiency during the quarter. At the same time, Gross NPA declined to 2.65%, signalling a positive trend in the bank's asset quality and credit profile. The improvement in profitability, combined with lower stressed assets, highlights the bank's stronger operating performance in Q1FY27. The focus now remains on sustaining healthy credit growth, maintaining asset quality and improving profitability in the coming quarters. Overall, the results indicate a positive operational trajectory for Union Bank, with stronger earnings and improving balance-sheet quality providing support to its financial performance.
