IIFL Finance doubles profit as net interest income rise 50%!
IIFL Finance doubles quarterly profit as net interest income rises 50% IIFL Finance reported a strong year-on-year improvement in its September 2026 quarter results. Consolidated profit increased approximately 103.7% to ₹766.4 crore, compared with ₹376.3 crore in the corresponding period last year. Net interest income (NII), a key measure of lending profitability, grew approximately 50.2% to ₹2,160.7 crore, compared with ₹1,439 crore a year earlier. The results put the company in focus during the ongoing Q2 FY27 earnings season. However, investors should assess the complete financial statements to understand the drivers of profit growth and whether the improvement can continue. 2. Why does this matter? IIFL Finance operates in lending businesses, where profitability depends on loan growth, borrowing costs, asset quality and credit losses. Three factors deserve attention: Strong profit growth: More than doubling reported profit is a significant year-on-year improvement, but investors should examine whether exceptional or one-off items contributed. Higher net interest income: Growth in NII indicates improved interest income after interest expenses, although the underlying contribution from loan growth and margins needs to be assessed.
