New Closing Auction Session (CAS) implemented Stock exchanges introduced SEBI's Closing Auction Session (CAS) for eligible stocks, replacing the earlier 30-minute volume-weighted closing price mechanism. The new system is designed to improve end-of-day price discovery and market transparency, contributing to the unusual difference between Nifty and Sensex closing moves on the first day of implementation.
