MORNING MARKET BRIEF---->Crude Cools Down, FIIs Sell But Keep Buying Banks — Can Nifty Reclaim 24,500?
Crude Oil has started cooling down, while US markets had a positive session, with the Nasdaq gaining around 0.5% and the S&P 500 around 0.3%. The Dow was marginally lower. Meanwhile, FIIs remained net sellers in the cash market — but there is an interesting twist. Banking and stock futures saw buying interest. And after Nifty managed to close around 24,436, the market remains close to the important 24,400 zone. ## FII DII DATA ( 12 AUG ) Segment FII DII Cash Market -₹1,002.50 Cr +₹5,841.66 Cr Index Futures -₹1,383.52 Cr — Index Options -₹2,769.99 Cr — Stock Futures +₹1,048.00 Cr — Stock Options -₹306.22 Cr — But there is an important positive signal: FII Stock Futures Buying: +₹1,048 Cr This suggests that despite cash-market selling, FIIs were still taking exposure through stock futures. If a meaningful part of this buying is concentrated in financial and banking names, it could provide support to Bank Nifty and large private banks. ----->Crude Oil Finally Starts Cooling After putting pressure on Indian equities, Crude Oil has started showing signs of cooling. This is an important positive for India. @@US Markets Give Some Support The US market delivered a broadly positive session. Nasdaq: -0.04% S&P 500: +0.74% Dow Jones: marginally lower Technology stocks were supported by optimism around AI-related earnings, helping the Nasdaq and S&P 500 finish higher. ------>Nifty: 24,400 Is the Key Zone Nifty closed around 24,436 in the previous session. That puts the index just above the important 24,400 zone. Now the setup becomes interesting. Above 24,400 If Nifty continues to hold this zone, short positions created during the recent weakness could start coming under pressure. Above 24,500 This becomes the bigger trigger. ##Bank Nifty Could Lead the Move • $HDFCBANK • !ICICI Bank • !Axis Bank • !Kotak Mahindra Bank @@LVLS:: 24,400 = Key Hold Zone 24,500 = Breakout Trigger 24,750 = Next Upside Zone
