Samvardhana Motherson’s ₹153 low decides the next move
MOTHERSON
Samvardhana Motherson International Limited ended the session at ₹157.03 after a 3.82% fall. The latest candle is a wide bearish candle, with price opening near ₹161.35, failing to hold the intraday high of ₹162.27, and closing closer to the day’s low of ₹153.81.
That candle matters because it comes after the stock failed to sustain its move near ₹170. It shows supply returning at higher levels and shifts immediate attention to ₹153 to ₹155. This is now the first area where buyers need to respond. A quick reclaim of ₹160 would indicate that the fall was profit booking. Continued closes below ₹153 would suggest that the corrective phase has more room to run.
The broader chart is still different from the immediate daily weakness. Motherson remains above the earlier breakout level near ₹143.68 and its rising long-term support line. This gives the stock a clear hierarchy: ₹153 is the near-term demand test, while ₹143.68 is the level that protects the larger uptrend.
Motherson’s auto-component business is linked to vehicle production, customer programmes and global manufacturing activity. The proposed acquisition of a 50.1% stake in Rotary Connectors adds aerospace and defence exposure, but the chart is currently asking whether the market will defend the earlier breakout zone.
View: Near-term pressure remains visible after the bearish candle. A recovery above ₹160 can stabilise the chart; a close below ₹143.68 would damage the broader structure.
