1-2% more in FD's!

If you have few lakhs of rupees to be invested in Fixed Deposits (FDs) then earning 1-2 % more will not make a substantial difference. Banks offering 7 percent or more should be sufficient as the primary place for FDs. Also, for those who keep less than Rs 5 lakh in the bank, the mandated insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh comes in handy.
