Direct Equity requires research!

In order to succeed as a direct equity investor, you cannot rely on stock tips from all and sundry. Some of those may work, but most of them won’t. What you need to do is fundamental research around a company’s financial health, corporate governance, market share and earnings growth expectation. While you may be able to get into some amount of research on one or two stocks, doing that for 15-20 means a full-time job. And not diversifying into at least these many stocks will increase your investing risk substantially.
