Don't play market timing game!

Hypothetically let’s say you have funds to invest, and the market drops by 5 percent then again by another 10 percent. Now you are convinced market will fall further and as a result you wait longer. Suddenly a rally commences, and you missed it. This has happened to all of us at some point when we are trying to time the market. Now let’s say you catch the bottom and invest. The question is how much would you invest and whether you will invest in staggered manner or no? Even if you had invested the entire amount and the market fell further, you would have missed the bottom anyway. Unless you are extremely lucky every single time, which is impossible, you won’t get rich playing the timing game.
