Don't take leverage for IPO listing gains!

In 2021, many large IPOs opened up with large discounts on their issue price that further led to a huge loss for retail investors. Not every investor has a spare corpus to invest with the intention of making high returns quickly and they end up borrowing money for short term at high interest rates. Besides the market is such that it encourages the retail investor to invest and potentially generate profit in a short span of time. Some investors fail to realize that actual gains post the payment of interest of the banks can be really small. Taking a huge risk for small profits is never a wise decision.
