Good at job doesn't mean good at investing!
For those who are well informed about equity markets, have sufficient time and resources to understand and analyze markets and companies, balance sheets and financial parameters, it may be reasonable to invest directly in stocks. But for those who don’t possess these skills or has no or limited resources, it is better to keep your ego in check and take professional advice. Just because you are good at your job or business doesn’t mean you can do well in equity markets on your own. Just be honest to yourself and hire or follow an expert to make your investing journey more fulfilling.
