Statistics about women!

Statistics show that a very limited number of women are financially aware and literate. Women must understand that it is imperative for them to understand and streamline their finances to not only realize their financial freedom but also for a host of other women specific reasons. The S&P Global FinLit Survey states that worldwide, only 30% of women are financially literate. In India, the situation is even more pronounced, with only 21% of women deemed financially literate compared with 27% of men. Women represent only 7% of total credit borrowers highlighting a lack of collateral, lower income and limited financial literacy. Indian men hold 50% more bank accounts than women. More alarming is that compared to 30% of men, 42% of women with bank accounts do not actively use them. This emphasizes how urgently women should interact actively with their money through saving, investing, and properly managing it.
