Federal Reserve's inflation rate projection and it's impact on India

The Federal Reserve’s softer inflation projections signal that U.S. price pressures are easing, increasing the likelihood of future rate cuts, which has important implications for India. Lower U.S. rates typically reduce global risk aversion, ease foreign capital outflows, and support the rupee by narrowing the interest rate gap. This can improve liquidity for Indian equities—especially large caps—and reduce borrowing costs for corporates over time. Additionally, softer U.S. inflation often stabilizes commodity prices, helping India manage its own inflation and maintain a supportive monetary stance. Overall, a dovish Fed creates a more favourable macro environment for India’s markets, currency, and growth outlook.
