Adani Group Bags Rs 36,000 Crore Deal
Industrialist Gautam Adani's business has been the highest bidder for the Rs 36,000 crore reconstruction of Mumbai's Motilal Nagar, following the Dharavi slum redevelopment project. One of the largest housing reconstruction projects in Mumbai is Motilal Nagar I, II, and III, which spans 143 acres in the Goregaon (W) suburb to the west. The top bidder was Adani Properties Pvt Ltd (APPL).
Based on its capabilities and economic viability, the state government has designated it a "special project," with MHADA maintaining control while working via a C&DA in the event that the work cannot be completed. Adani Group owned 80% of Dharavi Redevelopment Project Pvt Ltd (formerly known as Navbharat Mega Developers Pvt Ltd), with the state government owning the remaining portion.
