After the IT giant announced its highest buyback of ₹18,000 crore, Infosys shares increased by more than 2%.
INFY Following the announcement of a share buyback after market closing hours on Thursday, shares of Bengaluru-based Infosys Ltd., a supplier of technological services, increased by more than 2% in early trading on Friday, September 12.
Infosys declared that it would use a tender offer to buy back 10 crore shares of the company from shareholders. That represents 2.19% of Infosys's total equity.
The buyback price has been set at ₹1,800 per share, which is 19% more than Infosys' closing price on Thursday. The buyback will cost the business ₹18,000 crore, the most it has ever declared in its buyback history.
