At the end of the second quarter, which ended in September 2025, Mumbai-based IDBI Bank Ltd. announced a 98% increase in net profit, year over year, to ₹3,627 crore. The selling of an 11.11% interest in National Securities Depositories Limited (NSDL) through an initial public offering (IPO) accounted for a significant portion of the additional profit, approximately ₹1,699 crore. IDBI Bank's earnings would have been ₹1,928 crore without the one-time gain, which would have been 5% higher year over year and just lower than the ₹2,007 crore recorded in the previous quarter. By the end of September, the $11 billion lender had experienced four consecutive quarters of declining quarterly margins compared to the same period last year.
