On Monday, September 15, the Gurugram-based airline IndiGo said that, as part of a larger effort to increase its presence in Europe, it will begin operating direct flights between India and Greece in January 2026. Following the acquisition of the required regulatory clearances, flights will commence. The Airbus A321XLR, which will be introduced to India by December 2025, would be used to service the route, making it the first Indian airline to offer direct flights to Greece. Six weekly flights will be operated by IndiGo, including three each from Delhi and Mumbai to Athens, the capital of Greece. Additionally, travelers will have easy access to well-known Greek locations including Crete, Mykonos, and Santorini.
