GM of Power Grid Corporation of India Uday Kumar is arrested by the CBI for accepting a bribe of ₹2.5 lakh.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) detained Uday Kumar, General Manager of Power Grid Corporation of India, on Thursday, March 20, on suspicion of accepting a ₹2.5 lakh bribe. The investigation agency claimed that Uday Kumar accepted a bribe from a KEC International executive in Mumbai in order to do favors for the business. Suman Singh from KEC International in Sikar and Uday Kumar, who was based in Ajmer, Rajasthan, were also taken into custody. They had agreed to meet there in order to exchange the bribe, and that is where they were held. According to the officials, five people and the business KEC International have been named as defendants in the FIR. They claimed that Jabraj Singh, the vice-president of KEC International and the head of North India, is one of the defendants named in the CBI FIR.
