Health Canada approves Zydus Lifesciences' 1000 mg generic mesalamine suppositories.

Zydus Lifesciences Ltd., a pharmaceutical company, announced on Friday, October 24, that Health Canada has sent them a Notice of Compliance (NOC) for its 1000 mg generic mesalamine suppositories. The medicine is intended to treat ulcerative proctitis that is mildly to moderately active. The Zydus Lifesciences facility at Changodar, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, will produce the mesalamine suppositories. According to IQVIA MAT data for June 2025, mesalamine suppositories sold 4.86 million CAD annually in Canada. Health Canada sent Zydus Lifesciences a Notice of Compliance (NOC) this month for its generic 5 mcg and 25 mcg Liothyronine tablets.
