Shares of Reliance Industries are under scrutiny following Jio's tariff change.

RELIANCE
On Tuesday, August 19, investors will be watching shares of Reliance Industries Ltd., the dominant Nifty 50 company owned by Mukesh Ambani. This is after Jio indirectly raised pricing by 20% by withdrawing its entry-level plan. Dependency Jio's entry-level 1GB daily prepaid plans, which cost ₹209 for 22 days and ₹249 for 28 days, are no longer available. The new entry package for prepaid consumers, which gives 1.5GB per day for 28 days, now starts at ₹299 as a result of this modification. This same plan used to cost ₹249. Jio's pricing is now competitive with rivals Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea, who already charge ₹299 for their 28-day packs of 1GB each day. Customers' ability to downtrade to less expensive choices is thereby limited.
