ADANIPOWER
Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd. has sent a Letter of Intent to Adani Power Ltd., one of the biggest private sector thermal power generators in the nation, for the establishment of a 2,400 megawatt plant in Pirpainti, Bhagalpur. The state utility and the firm have inked a 25-year power supply deal for electricity produced by the future greenfield ultra supercritical thermal power plant. Three 800 MW units will make up the project, which was planned using a build, finance, own, and operate methodology. During a competitive bidding process, Adani Power won the project by providing the lowest supply rate, which was ₹6.075 per kilowatt-hour. The facility and related infrastructure will cost the corporation close to $3 billion.
