The auction for the 271 million-ton limestone block in Rajasthan is won by a Star Cement subsidiary.

On Friday, August 22, Northeast-based Star Cement Limited announced that Star Cement North East Limited, a subsidiary, had been selected as the "Preferred Bidder" for the Parewar (SN-IV) limestone block in Rajasthan. The block is 960 hectares in size and is situated in Village Joga, Tehsil Ramgarh, District Jaisalmer. An estimated 271.38 million tons of limestone are found there. After conducting e-auctions for the block, the Rajasthani government announced Star Cement North East Limited as the selected bidder. According to the corporation, after the required agreements and clearances are completed, the mining lease would improve its long-term raw material security.
