The real estate market is still expanding.

Despite a slowdown in launches in July, the Indian real estate market is still expanding, according to Gulam Zia, Senior Executive Director at Knight Frank India. He thinks that rather than being a sign of a fundamental slump, the weakness is seasonal. Approximately 80% of the real estate market is made up of residential properties; the remaining portion is made up of offices and retail space. There is nothing to be concerned about as the first three quarters have so far been roughly equivalent to the year-over-year figures from the previous year, Zia told CNBC-TV18. "Some say we are near the 12 o'clock position on the property clock," he continued. However, I don't think we're there yet; perhaps we will be at eleven. We must stop, think, and keep an eye on the upcoming quarters.
