ABB India Expands Bengaluru Facility to Boost Local Production of Variable Speed Drives

ABB
has expanded its Peenya factory in Bengaluru with a new production line for variable speed drive (VSD) modules, increasing its local manufacturing capacity by about 25%. The move aims to reduce delivery times by up to 40% and enable the production of customised drives catering to industries such as buildings, data centers, water, cement, and metals. The new line integrates robotics and automation to enhance efficiency, precision, and energy performance, supporting India’s growing demand for advanced industrial technologies. Marking two decades of drive production in the country, ABB reiterated its focus on localising manufacturing and delivering energy-efficient solutions aligned with India’s industrial growth. In August, the company also secured a ₹173.55 crore order from Siemens Gamesa Renewable Power to supply wind turbine converters, further strengthening its footprint in the clean energy and automation space.
