Adani Airports Secures $1 Billion Global Capital

Adani Enterprises Ltd’s airport arm, Adani Airport Holdings Ltd. (AAHL), has entered into binding agreements to raise ₹9,825 crore, or $1 billion, through a primary equity investment from Alpha Wave Global, Premji Invest, Temasek and funds managed by BlackRock. The fund raise values AAHL at a pre-money equity valuation of $18 billion, with the investors expected to collectively hold around 5.54% after all three tranches are completed by July 2027. The capital will primarily support airport expansion and modernisation, development of integrated airport-city ecosystems, and growth of passenger-facing and non-aeronautical businesses, including ground handling. In the first phase, AAHL plans to develop around 22 million sq. ft. of mixed-use projects, with the broader investment aimed at scaling airport capacity to approximately 200 million passengers annually while improving commercial monetisation and passenger experience. The transaction will be executed in three tranches under the Share Subscription Agreement and Shareholders’ Agreement. This follows Adani Enterprises’ ₹15,000 crore qualified institutional placement in July 2026, which the company described as India’s largest QIP by a non-financial corporate. Overall, the fund raise strengthens AAHL’s capital base and provides funding for its planned airport infrastructure and commercial expansion.
