Adani Power Expands Presence Through JP Group Asset Acquisition
Adani Power is strengthening its position in the thermal power sector through the acquisition of key assets linked to the Jaypee Group resolution process. The company has signed definitive agreements to acquire a 24% stake in Jaiprakash Power Ventures for ₹2,993.59 crore, along with the 180 MW Churk thermal power plant and an 11.49% stake in Prayagraj Power Generation Company for ₹1,200 crore, taking the total deal value to over ₹4,193 crore. The transaction comes under the NCLT-approved resolution plan for Jaiprakash Associates and reflects Adani Power’s continued focus on expanding generation capacity through strategic acquisitions.
