Adani Power Secures ₹2,000 Cr Project to Power UP with 1,500 MW Ultra-Supercritical Plant

has clinched a ₹2,000 crore contract to supply 1,500 MW of thermal power to Uttar Pradesh at a levelised tariff of ₹5.383/unit, emerging as the lowest bidder in a competitive tender. The power will be sourced from a newly planned ultra-supercritical thermal plant with 2x800 MW configuration (net 1,500 MW), to be developed in UP under the DBFOO (Design, Build, Finance, Own, Operate) model. The total investment is pegged at around ₹16,600 crore (~$2 billion), with operations expected to start by FY30. The project is likely to create 8,000–9,000 jobs during the construction phase and 2,000 once operational. This marks Adani Power’s second big win after securing a 6,600 MW (1,600 MW thermal + 5,000 MW solar) deal from Maharashtra last year.
