ADANIPOWER
has won a 2,400 MW ultra supercritical thermal power project in Pirpainti, Bhagalpur, through a competitive bidding process, signing a 25-year supply agreement with the state utility at a tariff of ₹6.075 per unit.
The project, to be built with three units of 800 MW each on a build-own-operate basis, involves an estimated $3 billion investment and is backed by coal supply under the SHAKTI policy. It is expected to generate 10,000–12,000 jobs during construction and around 3,000 jobs post commissioning, with full completion targeted in 60 months.
