Apollo Micro Systems Strengthens Defence Portfolio with Indian Navy’s Autonomous Maritime Project

Apollo Micro Systems Ltd. has secured a Make-II Prototype Sanction Order (PSO) from the Indian Navy to develop SAVIOR-ASW, a semi-submersible autonomous vessel prototype designed for underwater surveillance and submarine detection. The advanced system will use intelligent sensors to identify potential threats and transmit real-time information to command centres without requiring personnel onboard, offering a more cost-effective solution than conventional warships. This project supports India's efforts to strengthen indigenous defence technologies and enhance maritime security. According to industry estimates, the global autonomous maritime systems market is expected to reach $10 billion by 2032, highlighting the long-term growth potential of this segment. With nearly 68% of India's total trade value transported through maritime routes and around 42% of the world's crude oil passing through the Indian Ocean region, the need for advanced maritime surveillance continues to grow. Earlier this month, the company also secured defence-related orders worth ₹134.35 crore from the DRDO, the Indian Navy, defence public sector undertakings (PSUs), a state government and private sector clients, further strengthening its order pipeline and reinforcing its position in India's expanding defence manufacturing ecosystem. $APOLLO Disclaimer: This post is for informational purposes only and not a recommendation to buy or sell any securities.
