Ashok Leyland Wins ₹297 Crore Bus Order from Tamil Nadu Govt
Ashok Leyland has secured a ₹297.85 crore order from the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation for 320 fully-built BS VI diesel low-floor city buses, reinforcing its stronghold in the commercial vehicle sector. These 12-meter buses, featuring iGen 6 BS VI technology and a 184 HP H-series engine with front and rear air suspension, are set for delivery between June and August 2025.
This order aligns with Ashok Leyland’s focus on expanding its urban mobility solutions while capitalizing on government fleet modernization initiatives. Additionally, the company reported a 31.3% YoY increase in Q3 net profit to ₹761.7 crore, exceeding market estimates of ₹664 crore. Revenue grew 2.2% YoY to ₹9,478.7 crore, while EBITDA expanded 8.8% YoY to ₹1,211.5 crore, with margins improving to 12.8% from 12% in the previous year.
