BANKINDIA
has announced that its board will consider a proposal on June 26, 2025, to raise capital through the issuance of long-term infrastructure bonds. In FY24–25, the bank had successfully raised ₹2,690 crore via a 10-year infrastructure bond at a 7.50% coupon, which was oversubscribed by nearly six times, reflecting strong investor interest. For the current fiscal year (FY25–26), the bank has also indicated its intent to raise up to ₹5,000 crore through Basel-III compliant bonds to strengthen its capital adequacy and support infrastructure-led lending growth.
On the earnings front, the bank reported a robust 82.5% year-on-year increase in net profit, reaching ₹2,626 crore for the March quarter. Net Interest Income (NII) rose 2.1% YoY to ₹6,063 crore, compared to ₹5,936 crore in the corresponding period last year. The upcoming fundraise, if approved, would provide long-term capital to support balance sheet expansion while aligning with regulatory capital requirements.
