BEML Approves ₹1,500 Crore Rail Facility Investment

BEML
's board approved an estimated ₹1,500 crore investment for a greenfield rail manufacturing facility named BRAHMA, located at Umariya near Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. This state-owned firm plans to fund the project via long-term debt and execute it in phases over five years to bolster its rail and mobility production capabilities. The move supports India's drive for expanded domestic rail infrastructure amid rising sector demand. Despite Q3FY26 net loss of ₹22.4 crore versus ₹24 crore profit last year revenue grew 23.7% to ₹1,083 crore. This expansion positions BEML to capture growth opportunities in rail manufacturing.
