BHEL Secures ₹2,800 Crore Syngas Order from JV Partner

) has received a ₹2,800 crore letter of acceptance from Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Ltd (BCGCL), a joint venture where Coal India holds 51% and BHEL 49%. The contract covers the LSTK-2 package for a syngas purification plant tied to BCGCL's coal-to-ammonium nitrate project, targeting 2,000 tonnes per day output at Lakhanpur, Jharsuguda, Odisha. BHEL's scope includes design, engineering, equipment supply, civil works, erection, commissioning, and O&M services, with preliminary acceptance due in 42 months from February 10 LoA, followed by 60 months of O&M. Classified as an arm's-length related-party transaction via nomination, this bolsters BHEL's order book amid recent wins like a ₹1,200-1,500 crore Hindalco boiler project.
