BMW Industries Ties Up with Indian Oil for PNG Supply at Bokaro Facility

BMW Industries has partnered with Indian Oil Corporation(

) to supply Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to its Bokaro facility, marking a strategic shift toward cleaner and more efficient industrial energy usage. The agreement is part of the broader push to adopt environmentally sustainable fuel solutions, where PNG will replace conventional fuels in select operations, helping improve energy efficiency, operational safety, and emission standards. The Bokaro plant itself is part of BMW Industries’ broader expansion strategy, which includes a greenfield downstream steel complex with a planned investment of around ₹803 crore, aimed at strengthening its presence in value-added steel products and supporting long-term industrial growth. The adoption of PNG aligns with the industry’s increasing focus on sustainable manufacturing while ensuring a reliable energy supply for key operations at the facility.
