Bosch Faces ₹96.3 Cr Customs Demand Over Import Duty Dispute

BOSCHLTD
has been served a ₹96.3 crore demand by customs authorities, including ₹66.72 crore in duty and ₹29.58 crore in penalties. The issue stems from a dispute over the classification of imported components like ECUs and oxygen NOx sensors, which authorities believe were wrongly declared to claim duty exemptions. They argue that these should fall under different tariff codes than what Bosch used. The company received the order on July 2 and has not yet indicated if it will challenge the claim. While there’s no word on any business disruption, this development raises short-term compliance concerns. Follow me for more such updates, Thank You!
