BSE Expands Derivatives Basket with SEBI Nod for Sensex Next 30 Contracts

BSE
has received approval from Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to launch derivative contracts on the BSE Sensex Next 30 index, a benchmark that tracks the next set of large and liquid companies from the BSE 100 universe excluding the flagship Sensex constituents. The proposed offering will include futures and options, aimed at broadening hedging and trading opportunities for market participants while deepening liquidity beyond the traditional Sensex-linked products. The move is seen as a calibrated step by the exchange to diversify its derivatives portfolio and strengthen its competitive positioning in India’s fast-growing F&O segment, potentially improving participation from institutional as well as retail investors.
