CESC Strengthens Renewable Energy Portfolio with 175 MW Wind Power Project Win
CESC Ltd has expanded its renewable energy portfolio after its subsidiary, Purvah Green Power Pvt. Ltd., received a Letter of Award (LOA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for developing a 175 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power project.
The award, issued on August 5, 2026, was secured through SECI's competitive bidding process under Tranche-XX, which covers 2,000 MW of wind power capacity. Under the agreement, Purvah will supply power at a tariff of ₹3.85 per kWh for a period of 25 years from the scheduled commencement of power supply, providing long-term revenue visibility.
The company also clarified that the contract is not a related-party transaction and that its promoter group has no interest in SECI. Earlier this year, Purvah had secured 300 MW out of 600 MW of wind-solar hybrid projects awarded under the Ministry of Power's competitive bidding guidelines, with a tariff of ₹3.75 per kWh, while Vismaya Renewables India Project Pvt. Ltd. received 100 MW at ₹3.74 per kWh, and Hexa Climate Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and Sprng Energy Pvt. Ltd. were awarded 100 MW each at ₹3.75 per kWh.
These project wins reflect CESC's continued focus on strengthening its clean energy portfolio through competitive renewable energy opportunities while supporting India's long-term energy transition.
