has taken a decisive step toward diversifying its business by forming a 50:50 joint venture with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) to expand its presence in the power sector, combining mining strength with power generation expertise in a balanced partnership.
The JV will focus on developing a 1,600 MW (2×800 MW) thermal power project at the Chandrapura plant in Jharkhand, with a total investment estimated at around ₹21,000 crore, while also exploring opportunities in thermal and renewable energy projects.
