CONCOR & GAIL's 15-Year LNG Partnership Strengthens India's Green Logistics Push

Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) has signed a 15-year agreement with GAIL (India) to set up an LNG dispensing station at its Khodiyar ICD in Ahmedabad, reinforcing its commitment to greener logistics. GAIL will invest in, build, and exclusively operate the LNG outlet, while CONCOR will provide 3,000 sq. m. of land and utility support. The 24x7 facility will cater to both CONCOR’s fleet and commercial vehicles, with the company deploying 15 LNG-powered trucks from the first year. Despite expecting a weak June quarter, Jefferies has maintained a 'Buy' rating with a target price of ₹600, noting that the stock has underperformed the Nifty by nearly 50% since June 2024 due to slower container rail growth and delays in the government's divestment plans. The brokerage believes these concerns are largely priced in, with the stock trading one standard deviation below its historical valuation and long-term gains from the WDFC–JNPT connectivity yet to be fully reflected. It also highlighted that Indian Railways' container volumes declined 1% in May 2026 and 6% in June (year-on-year so far), impacted by disruptions linked to tensions in West Asia. While near-term headwinds remain, the LNG partnership strengthens CONCOR's long-term growth and sustainability strategy.
