CUMMINSIND
reported a favourable ruling from the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) related to an ongoing dispute with the Income Tax Department for FY2017-18. The company said the ITAT has granted relief on tax adjustments aggregating to ₹210.29 crore, reducing the potential tax exposure from the matter.
As part of the same order dated December 4, 2025, the tribunal directed ₹13.11 crore to be sent back to the Assessing Officer for revalidation, while sustaining a disallowance of ₹0.48 crore. Cummins India indicated it is assessing the next steps regarding the residual disallowance and is still evaluating the overall impact of the order.
The company noted that the exchange disclosure was made using a copy of the order downloaded from the official ITAT website, as a physically signed copy has not yet been received. Following the update, Cummins India shares closed at ₹4,402.30 on the BSE, up ₹16.90 (0.39%) on December 19, 2025.
