Cyient & MIPS Join Forces to Deliver Custom RISC-V Power Solutions for AI, Robotics, and EVs
CYIENT
Semiconductors and MIPS have announced a strategic partnership to develop custom and standard RISC-V-based ASICs and ASSPs, targeting intelligent power delivery and real-time control systems in automotive, industrial, and data center sectors. The collaboration brings together Cyient’s strength in analog-mixed signal and intelligent power design with MIPS’ Atlas CPU IP which is known for its real-time performance and control-loop efficiency. The focus is on creating scalable, energy-efficient semiconductors that power motor control systems, AI-based power management, and software-defined vehicles.
With growing demand for specialized silicon in autonomous platforms and data infrastructure, this alliance enables OEMs and integrators to bypass proprietary lock-ins, reduce costs, and accelerate go-to-market timelines. By leveraging the open RISC-V instruction set, the duo is designing domain-specific chips for future-ready, high-performance computing applications across edge and embedded systems.
